Just a great value. I have many "fake" books that give you quantity instead of quality. This book gives you just 8 songs, but they are transcribed beautifully. The CD and the included Amazing SlowDowner Lite software make this purchase a no brainer. I'm a beginner/intermediate player, and since I got this book 2 months ago, Ive learned to play "Imagine" and "Maybe I'm Amazed", and I'm working on "Hey Jude" and "A Whiter Shade of Pale".When I started with Imagine, I struggled through reading the music. Learning these songs has greatly improved my reading ability and my playing, and being able to play along with the CD at any speed is a blast and keeps me coming back for more. Each song has 2 versions on the CD, one with piano, one without. I thought about giving this 4 stars because on the CD there is a defect on the full version of Hey Jude. The play-along version is fine though so I really don't care.I'd give it 6 stars if I could!UPDATE: I updated to the full version or the Amazing SlowDowner Software and it turns out that the "defect" I heard in the cd was actually in the Amazing SlowDowner Lite software. It does not distort using the upgraded SW, which is quite expensive ($50). IMPORTANT: Here is the reason I upgraded. I enjoyed this book so much, I decided to buy the Elton John Hal Leonard Play-Along book w/cd, assuming that it will also work with the SlowDowner SW. After receiving it, I found that the SlowDowner SW would not recognise the CD. It seems that some of these Play-Along books do NOT support the SlowDowner SW. In all fairness, the SW is not mentioned on the Elton John book's cover or the Amazon product page, so it was my mistake. The upgraded SW version will slow down any CD, while the included free "Lite" version of the SW has to recognise the properly coded Hal Leonard disc or it won't play it at all. I realize that I'm mentioning a different book, but I feel that it's important to share, so that you're aware of this if you decide to buy more of these excellent book/cd sets. With that said, I like the upgraded version of the SW, just a bit pricey (IMO)! But it does let me slow down the Elton songs, and anything else for that matter. That's essential for me when learning difficult songs.update 2After using the upgraded Slow-downer SW for a while it has become a major part of my practicing ritual. It allows you to play any CD or mp3! You can slow down the song and adjust the pitch in cents if needed. This is invaluable if the songs pitch is off a bit, which often is the case. You can loop any part of the song easily, and create playlists. I know this started off as a review of the book, but this SW has been incredibly helpful.......and fun!
